List of buildings within Barrackpore Cantonment along with details, which have heritage values are as follows:
 
FLAG STAFF HOUSE
Built in 1828 on Riverside Road for the Military Secretary of the Governor General, located on the bank of the Hooghly River. The building is now Barrackpore Home of the Governor of West Bengal.
 
NO. 1 RIVERSIDE ROAD
Estimated to be oldest House in the Bungalow area. It was used as the office of Cantonment Authority and now housed by the SATYA SAI TRUST.
 
NO. 4 RIVERSIDE ROAD
Sir John Shore's House is perhaps the 2nd oldest house in the Bungalow area. It was once the residence of Sir John Shore who was Governor General in 1797. it was traditionally the house of Station Commander till 1991 and later converted to Eastern Command old age home.
 
NO. 3 RIVERSIDE ROAD
Built in 1891, it was initially the residence of Hon. G. C. Paul. It is now the residence of Stn. Cdr., Barrackpore.
 
NO. 33 PARK ROAD
Built on 12 March 1891 for the residence of the Commanding Officer of the Infantry Battalion in Barrackpore.
 
NO. 15 RIVERSIDE ROAD
Constructed in 1907, it was purchased by Royal Calcutta Turf Club as their Club House. It now houses Station Officers Mess.
 
43 MIDDLE ROAD
Constructed on 10 June 1885 for Senior Army Officers residence in a modern architectural style.
 
GOLA GHAT
Situated on the bank of the Hooghly River. East India Company used this Ghat to berth here to load/ unload artillery and other ammunition. The sliding approach to the river line was made to slide heavy boxes containing ammunition.
 
GRAND STAND OF ROYAL CALCUTTA TURF COURSE
The race course at Barrackpore dates back to 1806. the father of Bengal Racing Caption W. R. Gilbert ( later Major General) Capt. Pat. Deane, Major Mande Winter ( later Major General) were the pioneer of racing. The famous Col. Willkinson ( Inspector of Courses in England) under the supervision of Hugh Gentor designed the modern race course in Barrackpore in 1927. The Grand Stand consist of two stadia. It is now defunct.
 
BINDEE BABA'S TEMPLE
The facts which have been gathered are that in the mutiny of 1824, 47th native Infantry was abandoned by the Officer and was Commanded for two days by a Sepoy named Bindee Tiwary. He was caught and later hanged in chains and his body was left hanging as a warning to potential recalcitrant. Later offering were made by Sepoys to his remains as he was considered a martyr. Folklore made him 'Colone' Bindee and the temple stand today where his body was left hanging.
 
KALI TEMPLE ( DIGAMBAR AKHARA, BARRACKPORE)
As per folklore and hand down stories which is reinforced by an examination of the structure of the kali Temple (1cc in the trg area facing the Royal Calcutta Turf Course) it is over 700 years old and existed long before the Cantonment came into being Indian Troops used to worship here regularly and gathered here for secret poojas prior to the uprisings of 1824 and 1857. The Indian wife of Job Charnok, the founder of Calcutta used to came and worship in this temple. Available land records show it is an encroachment and event today a case is pending in the Alipor Court for acquiring the land by the Army.
 
48 BRITISH INDIAN LINE
Presently the HQ of a Mtn. Bde, this grand structure built in gothic style was the Mil. HQ of Gen Slim (later field Marshal Slim). During 2nd war world this was the hub center of all war activities for the campaign in the East. Although no written records are available, it is believed to have been built around 1820s by Lord Teign Mouth on the land bought form four Brahmins for Rs.180/- in 1797.
 
CEMETRY
It comprises survey No. 260 area - 2.87 acres, class B-1 in the name of High Commissioner of UK in India. It is situated in Orderly Bazar on the way to the Air Force Station. The cemetery is believed to be the oldest in Calcutta. Now in total ruins and vandalized over the years, the ground was consecrated by Bishop Cotton. Rumor has it that Lady Canning's grave was erected their initially when she died of malaria on 1861.
 
OLD CHRISTIAN CEMETERY AT SADAR BAZAAR
The cemetery is situated in between army qtr and Army LPG supply which is being used by the Christian of the area. It is being managed by St. Bartholomew's Cathedral, Bungalow No. 86 Middle Road. List of Graves
 
NISHAN GHAT
Landing stage on the bank of the river Hooghly constructed by the East India company for the use of Governor General.
 
GARRISON CHURCH
(BARTHOLOMEW CATHEDRAL (ESTD - 1847))
Established in 1847. Now known as the Bartholomew cathedral situated at bungalow No. 86.
 
RACE COURSE RAILWAY STATION
Constructed in 1927 adjacent to the Race Course so that people from Calcutta could came to Barrackpore by a race special train from Sealdah direct to race. This railway station is now used by the Army.
