Maintenance of Civic Infrastructure

The Cantonment Board, Barrackpore 12.225km road, 13km drains. It carries out repairs, maintenance and widening of the roads as and when necessary within the resources available. The Road bumps of important roads have also been provided with paving for safety and convenience of the public. Retro-reflective signboards have been installed along the roadsides to indicate directions, cautions for the safely and convenience of the public.

The citizens can contact the Sub-Assistant Engineer for redressal of grievances on all working days during working hours. The rectification and repairs shall be carried out as per prevailing rules and regulations within the resources available.

Removal of undesirable constructions and projections in Cantonment Roads and other public places. On the ground of public safety, health or convenience, the cantonment Board can initiate actions for removal or demolition of undesirable obstructions and projections in roads and other public places.


The Cantonment Board is empowered to pass strictures so as to ensure proper use of streets and protection of trees or removal of trees if considered dangerous to public property health and hygiene.


The Board may order removal of dangerous and precariously standing buildings and can order for their rectification as well.

Constructing, altering and maintaining roads and culverts.



Planning, construction and maintenance of drains and sewerage works.
